Teddy Ruxpin is a talking teddy bear. Ruxpin was first offered in 1985 by toy manufacturer Worlds of Wonder. He could move his mouth and eyes and read stories by a standard audio tape deck built in his back.

When the company folded, Playskool produced him until 1996 with smaller cartridges, which ended up being easily damaged. Then in 1998, Teddy Ruxpin was returned to the market for a short time with standard cassette tapes. In 2005 Backpack Toys came out with a fourth version of Ruxpin which uses digital cartridges.
